Laura's Story
After marrying Rudy, we had two girls, Lauri Dawn and Sheri Annette. When they got old enough, and didn't need me as much, I enrolled them in Pensacola Christian Grade School. I went to work for Travelers Insurance Company as a personal secretary to the Manager of the Life, Health and Financial Services Department until that department relocated to Orlando and I chose to stay in Pensacola. After that I went to work for Baptist Manor Nursing Home as a Staffing Secretary and Secretary to the Director of Nursing and the Assistant Director of Nursing. A few years later we moved to New Orleans, LA and I went to work as a Medical Transcriptionist/Secretary at Omega Institute of Health and Hospitals, privately owned by Joseph H. Bellina, M.D, Ph.D. - who is best known for the invention of laser surgery. I decided to retire at an early age and haven't regretted it one bit. My girls are the biggest accomplishment of my life. Lauri is 5'11" tall, gorgeous and an all-around good person, had two daughters (ages 11 and 15). The 15-year-old is now as tall as her mother. Sydney, the youngest, is almost an angel (but she, like her grandmother, can be tough if warranted...Expand for more
. Sheri is 5'7" tall, gorgeous and like her sister, an all-around good person. She had two boys, an 11-year-old and a soon to be 22-year-old (he is also 5'11" tall) and loves music. At the age of 14, he picked up a guitar and played it like he had been doing it all his life. He also plays the drums and the piano. It is definitely a gift. He sure didn't get it from me. Her youngest son was a natural born athlete. He was born with a ball in his hand (given to him by his dad who loves the game). Lauri lives in Rhode Island with her husband who is a Captain in the Navy - Rudy says he is so good looking that he should be on the billboards for the Navy (and I agree). Lauri works for a chocolate company. Sheri has worked for Regions bank since high school and is an officer there in the Personnel Department. Her husband is a coach and works at a liquor distribution company. I am so proud of family, including all of them. I must say that I did an excellent job raising Lauri and Sheri and my son-in-law's mothers' did the same. Any questions, just holler. By the way, Rudy and I will celebrate our 48th anniversary the 13th of June. He is semi-retired now.
