Laura's Story

I have many fun memories of H.S. Those fabulous FBLA conferences, being part of the California State FBLA First Place Robert's Rules of Order Campolindo Team (yes, did you know that? LOL), cooking in my mom's kitchen with my sister and friends making fun stuff and bless my mom for her patience, sewing until the wee hours of the morning on weekends (often a "sew-a-thon with my sister and friends), Girls Scouts and our trip to Europe (Cary Guido's mom and Kami (Gaines) Tim's mom were saints, believe me! They were our leaders to Europe). I actually cut school to study and sometimes to go on FBLA business (or not). Massive sleep overs at our house in our large family room where my dad would monitor us with a flashlight and bullhorn to make sure we behaved. Since my brothers and sister and I were in a spread of 5 years (total), we shared many of the same friends and those sleepovers could end up with many bodies there. When our kids were at home, they also had "massive" sleepovers and Mark would patrol with a flashlight (no bullhorn LOL) & make sure everyone was behaving.. Where am I in 2016? Still working (Director of Quality at John C. Fremont Healthcare District) enjoying an empty nest, but also missing the "kids" being at home. It is fun to watch our kids na...Expand for more
vigate adulthood (jobs, relationships, dreams). Our son is in Nebraska (married, no kids) & is a librarian (MLIS) at Wayne State College (his wife is a teacher and soon to be done with her masters) and our daughter is a paramedic in Fresno CA (the knife and gun capitol- I worry about her safety) & soon to be married to a wonderful guy who is a policeman. We will acquire 2 adorable grandkids with this deal! Yippee!; she is also ready to start her Nursing School with the goal of a BSN. Between work, my line dancing & square dancing, community chorus, the occasional art related workshops and visiting with friends, infamous "Girl's Weekends" and the inevitable local fundraising efforts for the Hospital District and other local agencies, I am busy busy busy. With summer coming, I have a group of nurses who enjoy local hiking trails and we try to hit the trail once a month. As (we hope) retirement approaches, we have re-roofed the house, repainted inside and out and re-floored (which was quite an adventure which I do not want to repeat.) Mark & I celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary in 2016. Where has the time flown? It is time for us all to Reconnect: Please try to make this reunion on August 6, 2016. Send me your current email address. See you there!
