Laura's Story
Life
After graduating high school in 96, I went to Purdue and earned a B.S. by 2000. Following undergrad, I got accepted at Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2004. Brandon and I had been dating for 7 years at this point while I was finishing up school and during this time, he was living and working in Chicago. I met him at Purdue however he was just there visiting a friend for a football game. We exchanged numbers and the rest is history. He had already graduated from Loyola of Chicago and was living/working in Chicago at this time. As soon as I graduated vet school we got married in Aug 04. We spent our first year of marriage living just north of downtown Chicago in a trendy neighborhood called Lincoln Park. He worked downtown and I was working as a small animal veterinarian in the city. He finished his M.S. in computer science from the University of Chicago just before his job moved us to the Wash. t night from the banks of the Potomac river in Old Town. This location puts us at about a 15 minute drive from DC and about 2 hrs from the ocean and mountains. I like living on the east coast but I miss the midwest sometimes. We have 2 cats that I adopted as a veterinary student. We had our first child, William (Will) on 7/12/08 and he is the world to us. I'm still working as a small animal veterinarian here in Alexandria. That's my life bio so far. 5-8-09
Update: We now have 2 children, Will (6) and Victoria (3). We moved to a larger house and reside in Alexandria VA in the neighborhood, Del Ray. We bought a 1925 craftsman and plan to embark on a major home renovation in 2017. Can't wait! I work as a feline only veterinarian and my husband works for the city of Alexandria Police Department as their IT manager. 9-12-14

College
No regrets in college. Some of the best times in my life so far.
Workplace
Currently working as a feline practioner in Alexandria VA. I do some dog/cat practices 'on the side' when i am available.
