Laura's Story

I loved the 70's! Drive Ins (Sunset), sneaking out, cheerleading, Marumsco Plaza, the "Strip" ... driving our cars back and forth on the drag strip wasting our gas we just sat in line for hours on Odd/Even days to get, Storybook Land, school rock bands at breaks (They were so good, I wonder if any of them made it big), Manny Moons! Drag Races on Telegraph road, the Manassas-Woodbridge Drag race that brought thousands together, the real "Smoketown (shacktown) Rd., the State streets... before they turned into an embarrassing slum area, 7-11 candy, staying outside with friends from morning til the street lights came on (plenty to do outside in those days of 1 TV per household), building the coolest tree houses, learning how to ride (miserably) a motor cycle... into the thorn bush, Route 1, Marumsco Plaza movie theater... (first kiss... 10 seconds long... Scott Olsen LOL)... Roller Skating (or saying we were going roller skating in Triangle, getting paddled in school (3 times ... OMG how scary that was!! They need to bring that back!) for getting involved (not by choice) in a scuffle with Pam Fontenot and Richard Weinberger... she stabbed his arm with my art knife, LOL how funny, what we remember... My crush on Carmen Lotito LOL LO...Expand for more
L, We're still friends, Year round school... Orange Color Code, The Dale City Gang... Oh My did we have some good times... Connie Buhle, Debbie Hill and all... Breaking into public pools at night and skinny dipping! LOL LOL Did I say endless partying? LOL Boyfriends, staying away from the Cherry Hill Gang! LOL Hidden Lake, Springfield Mall, Three Chefs, Padrinos after the football games, Joes Place for the BEST Steak and Cheese on the east coast! I hear the Mafia got poor Joe but the family continued to run the biz... IT's still there! The Silver Fox, Skipping school and getting caught walking in the woods by Mr. Garrett (OMG!) where the Potomac Mills Mall is now, Football Games, Hurricane Agnes, The Wood Bridge washing away as well as the Rt. 1 bridge, sneaking out with Tina Crabtree :-), Senior skip days at Va Beach and Outer Banks, playing "Quarters" really Pong in quarter form... LOL Walking to Rippon.... uphill on Md. Ave., Sleepovers at the "Twins" house, Oh My... So many memories... So much creativity in our day... We were the last of the baby boomer age... In my opinion... The smartest generation out there... This was quite a walk down memory lane... Sooo much to remember... So little time... So many Great Memories! :-)
