Laurel's Story
Life
It's been a long and winding road, but through it all, I've kept my generous spirit alive and my sanity almost completely intact. My goofiness is tempered these days with a hopefully short-lived cynicism, but I still manage to have fun and embarrass my grown married daughter almost as often as I want. I'm currently single, darnit!, but I refuse to give up hope. I'm working for a large law firm in these uncertain times, and I'm happy in my work.
It seems that I have become "the cat lady." I have three in the house and feeding eight or nine or ten others that just hang around the garage(they're not allowed inside, and most are too feral to consider the possibility)...Expand for more

I haven't fished at all this year (2008), and it's very frustrating. I'm a decent angler, but I hate fishing alone. I used to fish with Jimma's hubby, but he loves his golf!!
I still get together with Jimma, Ronnie, Melvin, and their families. Having long-time friends is wonderful. They forgive so much and expect so little.
As of December 2008, I've been smokefree for five+ years. I wouldn't call it my most outstanding accomplishment, but it ranks right up there. I'm not an evangelist, though. I still love the aroma, and I'd pick'em right back up were it not for my daughter, who insists she wants me around to embarrass her children...when she finally has some.
