Lauri's Story
Life
After highschool, I attended a small Lutheran college just north of NYC. It was one of the best decisions I ever made! I became involved in touring performance groups singing and doing mime. I made many friends, traveled all over the east coast and finally met my husband. Upon graduation I taught school in Queens and Yonkers, waiting for my fiance to graduate.
The it was off to St. Louis for him to enter seminary for 4 years. I taught school there as well. We had our first two children there and made many dear friends.
Upon his graduation, we moved to northern Michigan where he would be pastor and I would no longer have to teach! We had two more children the 4 years here and learned of and began homeschooling...so much for no more teaching! We've moved around plenty since then...southern Illinois, northern Iowa, western KS and now eastern NC and had five more kids for a total of nine, 4 girls and 5 boys, ages 18 to 3. #10 is to come in June 2009! hooray!

fe with many dear friends and endless opportunities to serve God's people. Even though it seems cliche, it is true -While not rich financially, we are surrounded by much love. I wish I had a maid, but other than that, I think we have the perfect life!
If you came to our house it would NOT be like the Duggar family on TLC, I promise you! We are a bit (!) disorganized, our clothes don't always match and the laundry is in the kitchen..oh and while we laugh and smile alot, there is plenty of yelling too.
My oldest just graduated high school with 43 college credits and got a free ride to a State University..so I guess homeschooling works! (but boy am I feeling a little old! I am glad I still have the rest of the brood to distract me from missing her)
The second daughter is now finishing up her junior year in high school/community college and will have 28 college credits. She plays organ twice a month at our little church and plans to pursue a degree in Sacred Music and maybe become a deaconess.
