Laurie's Story
Well....I can't believe it's been almost 23 years since graduating! Ok, now I'm feeling 'old' just typing that! Let's see..my story...I spent 10 years in the US Army Reserves as a Medic and a nurse, from 1986 to 1996. I've also worked at Boeing since 1988, just shy of 20 years, spending the last 12 in Emergency Management which I love. Of course, neither of those choices were in my 'life plan'...but I've definitely learned to be flexible in that area!
I've been married to Larry Willis since 1996. He also spent 10 years in the US Army. My stepdaughter, Alex, just turned 17. She's a cheerleader for Prosser Highschool - the football team won the 2A championship this last December, and the girls basketball team won 3rd place in state this past weekend. She's quite good! Those here who know me, and recall that I was on...Expand for more
the dance team in high school, know I would have been happier if Alex had done the same. But she truly has found her niche with cheering (and I'm NOT biased...). But it's making me miss a little the carefree days of high school. Not that I'd EVER want to be a teen again....!
We live in Puyallup. I love it here, but it's all building up so fast, making it tough to get around anymore. I have to say, once I left Marysville, I haven't lived there since. My sister Tricia (and her family) and my brother Ken (and his family) still live there. My youngest sister Alicia and her new husband live in Virginia. My mom remained in Marysville, and worked for Cascase Elementary, until she passed away from cancer in May 2006.
Other than being back in school (I'll probably go forever...) and working like crazy, that's about it!
