Laurie's Story
Life
I was married and divorced twice before meeting and marrying my current husband of 21 years, Ron Hansen. Ron and I live in Old Metairie in an old "fixer-upper" house that we plan to renovate or tear down and rebuild as soon as we finish with tuition. We have three children: twin boys - Tyler and Trevor - who are 18. Tyler just graduated from Holy Cross and has joined the US Air Force. He will leave for boot camp in December. Trevor will graduate from Holy Cross next year and plans to go to college. He is a year behind due to an accident when he was 12 that resulted in a below knee amputation of his left leg. d. Kelsey is a "special" child with multiple disabilities, but a happy child nonetheless. Ron is a general contractor and has his own business. I have worked at Ochsner Clinic for the last 17 years, as an Administrative Assistant in Medical Administration. I assist two very busy Medical Directors. I also take care of all aspects of the interview process for physicians looking for positions at Ochsner. When I have time, I love to go movies at the Palace Theater and that's where you can find me most Sunday afternoons. I also love to cross-stitch and always have multiple projects going on simultaneously. I collect cookbooks and enjoy cooking for family gatherings.
