Laurie's Story
I figure it’s about time for an update. It is now 2022. I’ve been retired from teaching since June of 2018 after a 31 year career.. After enduring MANY health issues, including detached retinas, a small stroke and a hip replacement, Add a knee replacement in August of ‘22. I thought I should start listening to my body. Adding a diagnosis of Parkinson’s sealed the deal. I try to remain somewhat active, but my Parky body often fights me. Rob and I will have been married for 26 years this June. given us 3 grands and we have a fourth from Rob’s son. All told, 2 boys, 2 girls ages 10 to 5. I’m still an animal lover. We have 3 German Shepherds, 4 cats and 2 rats. Some things will never change! My parents are retired and living in Laramie, Dick and Marg are also in Laramie. Their kids are grown with families of their own spread from Wyoming to California to Texas. Dick is a grandpa of 8! John still lives in California. I’m still kind of active on Facebook (Laurie Meranda Johnson) and I’ve been appointed to the Mayor’s Council for People with Disabilities.
