After graduating from Lakewood in 1973, I attended LBCC. My first job was at Howard Rexall Drug on South street, where I got paid $1.85 an hour and thought I was making a fortune. I was married to my high school sweetheart in December 1973, Jeff attended Jordan and also graduated in 1973. I continued going to school part-time and working and had my son, Lance in 1975. Jeff and I separated in November 1976 and eventually divorced. I was a single parent to my son Lance for 15 years. During this time I attempted to go to school part-time and worked at Long Beach Neuropsychiatric Institute and Pioneer Hospital. Eventually I became a Insurance claims examiner.
