Laurie's Story
Living in Kentucky since late February 2010 and find the calm pace and friendly people delightful. I can hardly believe it has been so many years living away from Jersey! I have never felt so relaxed in my life. Oh, there are some hectic days, but on the whole things are just plain slower here and I am loving it!
My daughter Jessica is on her own so it is my time to live the second half of my life - Woohoooo!!! I miss her very much, but I know she is doing well and is a strong woman now. Jess hiked part of the Appalachian trail with friends and decided to stop and settle in Virginia where she met Dalton, her love of many years.
As for me, I still work for a government contractor for the National Customer Service Center for immigration ever since I moved here to KY, and for the most part I enjoy what I do. People can be hard to handle at times, but on the whole, the majority are nice and show so much appreciation f...Expand for more

I'm still with Al, whom I met on this very site through another group. We are settled in for the long haul and I look forward to a wonderful future. He's always working on several projects at once, making all kinds of things. Al's new passions are making primitive long bows, arrows and handmade hunting knives; he is a very talented person, if I may say so myself. Our rustic bedroom he built came out really cool. He finished his garage/work room, next will be a storage shed and some day the patio off our bedroom. Not sure but, Al may continue working on the hunting cabin on his land so ... It's great to know he is willing to work so hard for us to be comfortable and happy!
So come on, tell me how you are! What's going on in your life? Post some pictures, it's really cool to see people as they are today as well as how they once were. I wish all much love and luck.
