Laurie's Story
Life
Since 2003, I put my nursing career on hold to take on a more important responsibility, motherhood. Our daughter, Rose, was born in July 2003 and our son, Jeffrey, in March 2005. Since my graduation from EMU with my BSN, I had practiced nursing at Norfolk General in Virginia, St. JoeÃs in Ann Arbor and then Capital WomenÃs Care in Maryland. d from U of M with his Doctor of Pharmacy. Life in the military, my husband in a Naval Lieutenant, means many moves. In Fall of 2005, we made GTMO our new home. This is a huge contrast from DC area. Living here feels like we are back in the small town atmosphere of Saline back in the 70's and 80's. The population here is about 10,000. The biggest difference is that we have temps in the mid 80's in winter. We love it here, especially Rose and Jeffrey. They have pools and beaches to swim in year round.
