Laurie's Story
What have I been doing for the past almost 40 years? I graduated from Genesee Hospital School of Nursing and worked in extended rehabilitation for 4 years. Got married in 1973 to John. Quit my job and had two beautiful girls. Worked as a sub school nurse (Do you have any idea how many drugs they give out in the schools today??) Got what I thought would be a fun job at Joann Fabrics. Turned out to be much harder that I thought. Worked my way up from 10 hours a week to full time management. Left to manage a store at one of the local malls called "Get Organized". From there, I took a job to Xerox. Currently, I am still married to the same wonderful guy. Our two girls are both married and we have a beautiful grandson (3 in Feb '09). I ...Expand for more
work in the sales operations and marketing department at Xerox and love my job. John and I have been members of world wide antique car club (Hudson-Essex-Terraplane). We own two Hudson cars and travel all over the country and even to Australia with the group. I also love to sew and quilt and have recently taken up scrapbooking. Brenda (Maier) Marr, Gloria (Rager) Dennehy, Rita (Hargarther) Castle and Marilyn (Blakely) Passer and I get together on a regular basis and always have a great time!
Can't wait to catch up with many of you next October! Drop me a line if you choose, I would love to hear from you.
I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were wrong.
