Laurie's Story
THEN: Mostly I just hope somebody remembers me. I think in high school I was quiet and not too popular. I don't think I stood out enough to be remembered much.
NOW: I have eight kids. Yep, 8. I work as a speech teacher at my littlest one's school. Perfect job for this time in my life. In our yearbook I said I would be working with autistic kids, and that's exactly what I'm doing. I have about 45 kids on my caseload and most are autistic, downs or m/r.
We like camping and do all the family junk you'd expect from a family with 8 kids. I'm finally going back to finish college.

ink I'm going to be in a small classroom of just 4/5 graders with special needs.
I've been a single mom for a little while now and that's been taking some getting used to. The kids and I did our first camping trip semi-on our own this month. We definitely had help though. My Dad and cousin were camping in their own campers at the same campground, so they gave us some much needed support. Although, the kids and I did build an awesome campfire and I even fixed the hot water heater on the camper. But two days at the bath house on a 10 trip and that water heater was getting fixed one way or another!
My two oldest kids have moved out and have places of their own. And next year I'll have another one going to community college with me!
