Laurie (Laura)'s Story
Update 2016: Not much has changed; still working for Procter & Gamble Professional (just celebrated 30 years), still traveling, still living in Kaneohe Hawaii with my dog Teddy; life is still good!
Written 2014: For the past 28 years I have been living in Hawaii, on the island of Oahu; primarily on the windward side, in a small suburb, Kaneohe, with my dog Teddy, a 5 year old (25 lb.) Cairn Terrier. Since 1986 I have worked for Procter & Gamble in the Professional division (commercial products). P&G is a great company; I love the challenge, independence and good life that my job gives me. I intend to stay with P&G as long as they let me. I love my job. ent in High School, and since he was always at our house back in those dating days, he has been like a son to me since long before they were married.
Back in 2000 I decided I wanted to see the world, up close and personal - so I made it a goal. Until then I really hadn't been outside of the US much at all. I have been all over Asia, all over Europe, England, Russia, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt, and, of course, Tahiti (so close!). Highlights: walking the Great Wall; wandering through Venice, seeing beautiful works of art exactly where they were put by the artist; holding a wombat in Queensland Australia, hanging out with penquins in Argentia/Chili, Capr Italy, the Greek islands, and just experiencing the delight of being in places I had only seen in pictures. At this point, I may want to travel more someday, but right now I am pretty happy to just kick back. Taking a break... still have a few places I want to see.
Mostly I work, relax a little with my family and friends, and just enjoy each day as it comes along.
