Lawrence's Story

After 30 plus years as a paramedic and RN, I finished my Master of Science in Emergency Management. After getting my MS, I lived in Albuquerque NM, where I was an Emergency Preparedness Planner with the NM Dept. of Health. In this career, I planned for pandemic and bioterrorism operations. I was there almost two years. Then, I was recruited by Eastern New Mexico University in Portales to direct their Emergency Medical Services Management online degree program. l classes. Prior to that I was an ICU, ER and Helicopter Medivac RN, an Operations Manager for an ambulance service, taught Health Sciences at an inner city High School in Ft. Worth TX and taught EMT courses for Alvin Community College and a proprietary Adult Education program. I have also taught WMD response at the Department of Homeland Security's Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston Alabama as an adjunct instructor. I am divorced. My son, who served a tour in the Navy, lives in Dallas, working on his degree.
