Lawrence "David"'s Story
Life (updated 6-5-09)
After graduation, I went to UC Berkeley. I spent a year in the engineering program and realized that it wasn't for me. Ended up with a Business Degree in Accounting and Finance. Earned my CPA Certificate with Pricewaterhouse in SF and in 1985 moved to Sonoma County when I took a job in Novato. I married Shawn Greene ('78) and we have three children: Kyle, Ben and Chelsea. Kyle is 25 and graduated from Stanford in 2006 (the traitor, Go Bears!) and he works for Intuit in Mountain View. Ben is finishing his fourth year at UCLA (traitor #2) and will graduate with an Computer Science/Electrical Engineering degree in December 2009. Chelsea just finished her first year at the University of Hawaii. She has decided to come back home and will enter Sonoma State in the fall.
As I stated earlier, life has treated me well and I have been fortunate to have a great family, good health and a career that has been very fulfilling. It just amazes me how quickly life has gone! Shawn and I have enjoyed being first time empty nesters. We still seem to stay busy but now we are busy with things we like to do. We are season ticket holders for the Giants and we go to about 15-20 games a year. We go to the gym about 3-4 times a week and we just took our first yoga class. We really like it and will be signing up for the next session. We remain a big boating family even though it gets harder and harder to get the family together. Still every year we vacation in Clear Lake and waterski, wakeboard and fish for a week. Next year in May, Shawn and I will be going to Italy - - which will be our first visit to Europe. We'll be going with our good friends, Mark and Theresa Valdez (both from American High). Hopefully, this will be the first of many trips we take.
I still keep in touch with my buddies from the 'hood, Ken Sylvester and Stacy Stommel. I would love to hear from any of my old school or work mates. You can write me at the following: my last name, the number 5 (all strung together with no spaces), the "at" symbol, comcast dot net. Look forward to hearing from you.
