Lazara's Story

I can't believe I'm 50! (of course, with no wrinkles, no aches and pains, no regrets, ....:) I guess I can say that it's been an interesting journey since my graduation from DBC in 1980. I got married in June of '81 to my husband Albert, and we are still happily married. We are the proud parents of 2 daughters, Natalie and Lauren, now ages 25 and 20. No grandchildren yet (I think I can wait a little longer) Our girls are still single, enjoying life, and pursuing their careers. I've worked during the last 8 years as a Social Worker for a local Christian organization. My husband has worked x 27 years for UPS. He hopes to retire in 3 years, and I look forward to joining him. :) My job is rewarding, but very stressful at times. I work...Expand for more
with the poor, the needy. I work with individuals and families whose dreams are but a vague reminder of a faded past. I'd like to think (and so they tell me :) that I was called to do what I do. At the end of my day, when I feel emotionally exhausted, I am reminded of my own blessings. I am also renewed by the thought that I made a difference in someone's life. So, I go on, for as long as God allows me, alliviating suffering and bringing hope to the hopeless. To my college friends who would read this: I wish you peace, good health and happiness. May the Lord keep you protected from harm, and may He bless you and your family. In time, we will meet again. From my current home in The Colony, Texas, your friend, Lazara Arriola (Mollinedo)
