Lee's Story
After F.D.R. I went to Brooklyn College for 2 years. But I needed to work and to find myself. So after a rather strange trip across country in 1977, I moved to California. I was supposed to work with one of my cousins, buying cars and trucks in places like Arizona and New Mexico and drive them back to CA to sell. That never panned out.
I wound up working for a jeweler I knew from NY, and then another one I knew. After that I kicked around installing window screens, painting houses and installing car stereos.
I got a job working for a small ad agency who did a lot of packaging and marketing for a then, very young computer game industry. We grew to be pretty big, but also too fast. joyed working there and rubbing elbows with other "artsy folks". That is also where I met my wife!
We pooled our talents and started our own freelance graphic design business. We were very successful for a long time, relying mostly on word-of-mouth to get business.
After our daughter was born, we realized how much we missed our families and decided to move back East. We settled here in Rhode Island (where she is from) and have been here ever since.
She is still doing graphics and I am looking for work following my heart attack last October. Doing good physically, now just need a job! LOL.
Our daughter is going into her senior year at Endicott College where she is majoring in Interior Design. But... she is looking to change over the graphic design (of all things).
Loving life here on the East Coast, but we do miss our many friends back in California.
