Lee's Story

Hey all you guys and gals how are all of you? I am hoping to connect with classmates and others that I met at Delta High Now what to say here. I have always wondered about what to write. lol What have I been up to? About 6'. I know lame. lol But most would probably remember me being in sports. And well that didn't change much for most of this time. I competed in the National Jr. Olympics in 76 in freestyle wrestling and went 1-2 and the two that beat me placed in the top 5 if I remember right. Ran marathons and other races, softball, volleyball, soccer, Bicycling (even got offered a sponsorship for racing bikes) and I coached. And did I mention I coached, I loved working with the kids and got many to state or higher competition. Also had several go into the military and become officers and embassy guards. Kind of like I did while in High School. Many may not know that for running I was the coach and drew up the workouts and did them. Our Sr. year we had a 5 man CC team and myself and 4 sophs. took 10th our of 12 teams at state. Deltas 1st full CC team. I think they did pretty good. Me I got an AAS degree in Natural Resources and then couldn't find a job for months and went into the army and got stationed at Ft. Greely. And yes I went back to the old school and helped coach wrestling, Track and CC and I loved it and for some reason the kids liked the workouts enough to ask me to put them through more. lol Warped I know but hey. Really did have fun with them and was honored when a couple came state side they were hoping to be able to find me. Found that out from the coach I helped. Oh i only spent 4 years in the military all at Ft. Greely. After that I got my BS in Ed. (scary right, lol) and competed in wrestling, track and CC. And worked and coached while doing that. Then tried to get a job teaching ...Expand for more
and did PT for a while and again coached. Didn't stay in teaching but did in coaching. Seems i was pretty good at BSing the kids in doing well in sports and not at getting admin to do their job. Oh well. I still kept on coaching and found other jobs as a Machinist and receiving clerk and a personal trainer and still competing. Then I had a life changing event and it made it so I couldn't do some of the things I had and again I went to School for retraining. Now I have 3 more AAS degrees and a class from a 4th. So you can put that all together and say what you want. lol AAS BS AAS AAS AAS. you can put together a lot from that. lol Now I do computer work out of my house and am growing garlic. And wanting to find some of the people from back in the day. I really do miss many of you and would love to hear from you. No I never got married YET. Many would probably remember that I was clumsy around girls esp. if I liked them. Could have been married to probably the lady of my dreams, her mom told me she came to marry me and I wanted to told mom and dad and whatever it was I never did ask. And things go on and on and on at the old song goes. I hope I have not bored you all. I would really like to talk with you all and see where you are at and what you are up to. Oh and I love fishing and did that a lot over the years. And got to go to my 1st Nebraska Football game in 2010 for the Mizzou game. It was GREAT, records were set that day, Helu for rushing and kept our consecutive home game sellout national record going. Go BIG RED!!!! lol God Bless and really hope to hear from you guys. As ole Henry Vaughn said maybe exchange email outside of here or (really what he said) phone No. Got to talk two from the old class recently and it was great!!!! Well better go and wish you all the very best in what you are doing. Lee
