Leif's Story
Life
I get the sense that no one ever visits this web site and those that do are simply looking for a hottie they had a crush on 20 years ago who guest-starred in an unwholesome dream they had last night (why do you think I¿m here now? And she's not even registered here, what a gyp...). Anyone with a shred of self-respect would leave this area blank, but my greatest joy in life comes from writing about myself, so here we go¿
1988 ¿ 2003: Unimportant, tiresome crap.
Early 2003: I suffered a simultaneous lifestyle breakdown and identity crisis, fueled by cheap wine, a profiteering ex-spouse and disillusionment from the NBA players strike. Before anyone could stop me, I quit my job, sold everything, bought a laptop and hit the road. I¿m a travel writer. You think I¿m kidding, but I...Expand for more
¿m not.
In 4 and ½ years I¿ve visited over 40 countries. I freelance for several magazines and web sites and I am currently under contract with Lonely Planet to write about Romania and Moldova, having previously done Tuscany. I've returned to live in Minneapolis, I'm slightly less broke than last year and having the time of my life. I sleep late, work three hours a day, woo women in four languages and travel for free. As far as money goes, I occasionally get paid a pittance to write irreverent, smart-ass comments about Berlin, five-star hotels and the Pope. In short, I am my hero.
Google me (spell my name right!) if you¿d like to learn more about how much I rule, but first send the dependents to the neighbors, unplug the phone and get a comfortable chair. I¿m a bit long-winded.
