Leigh's Story
Still the same old guy, emphasis on the word old, and not quite as tall (thanks to 10 years of submarine service).
One of the story wizard questions asks "What was the wildest thing you ever did in school?" School had a lot of memories but I think the wildest one, and some of you may remember was the Thanksgiving football game pep really in our graduating year. My dad had an old 1960 Dodge Dart Pioneer, which was white in color even though the paint was in bad shape after 10 years of winter weather. I convinced him to let me use if for the pep rally and use green poster paint to show our support of the team. dly to that and the chase was on. We were chased all over town but before we could get away, the poor car suffered the barrage of what seemed like dozens and dozens of eggs.
Dad was understanding the next day when he saw the souffle in the driveway. It had gone below freezing that night so everything was frozen to the car. I took the car to the car wash and in my horror found that after the egg was removed, the car was permanently green where the paint and egg had blended together. Dad was again cool with it, although I think deep down he was upset, he never showed it. I spent the better part of that weekend washing the car with anything that would turn the paint white again. bleach, rubbing compound, Comet, etc. It finally did come off. Never did that again!
