Leith's Story

Hi, First of all: Please check out my book at Amazon or Barnes and Noble or any of the major online booksellers. Just type in the name of the book, "Losing Amber-Lee", or my full name, Leith MacArthur. It's gotten fabulous reviews; nothing less than four stars every time! Thanks for allowing me to promote my life's passion. :-) Okay, on to my story. When I first considered joining Classmates, my decision was, No! My main reason for not joining was this: I was stunned and embarrassed by how little I could remember about my teenage years and I simply did not want to have to admit to anyone that I could remember almost no one. But some time later, shortly after a personal event that led to a kind of epiphany (I figured out why I was unable to remember) I decided that Classmates.com might be an opportunity for me to fill in the blank spaces... lots and lots of big, blank spaces. So, my purpose here is a rather selfish one. I want to know what my Wayland High School experience was like. Perhaps in filling in this great empty space in my life, my decidedly selfish motivation may well produce a result that might be considered not so selfish: To learn about the wonderful kids of Wayland High School, Class of 1964. Some of them influenced my life in ways they most certainly do not know. Hell, in some ways I don't even know. Hopefully, by finding out what my classmates experiences were of me, I can learn more about who they were back then, but more importantly, who they are today. While that part of my life is pretty much an indistinguishable blur, I a...Expand for more
m aware that Wayland High School, it's classmates and it's faculty, as well as the village of Cochituate and those who befriended me there, all made a decidedly positive impression on me... albeit, a subconscious one. In fact, of the thousands of people I've encountered throughout my sixty-two years on this planet, one of those folks from Cochituate had the single most profound impact on my life, literally by saving it. If not for this person, my brief life would have come to it's end at the bottom of that picturesque little lake... the one that is so hard for so many non-residents to pronounce. "Co-pitch-erate?" "Co-shish-per-ate?" "Co-what-you-ate?" Cochituate. So, I'd deeply appreciate any input you might have that may help me remember who I was; anything that may help me decide if I could possibly have been as invisible as I thought I was. As far as what my life has been since then? Rather than stack it up right here like so much cordwood, perhaps you might want to take a look at my website. There you'll be able to get a glimpse of the chaos, the madness, and the magic that has been my life since I was shot out the cannon that was Wayland High School. To get to my website just do the triple w's, then my name, Leith MacArthur, and then the dot com. Classmates doesn't allow you to put a website address in here. And while you're there, please grab yourself a copy of my book, Losing Amber-Lee. It's received a number of Four Star reviews, and I think you'll be surprised by how really good it is. I hope to hear from you. Best regards, Leith.
