Lelah's Story
Life
Close to forty years since high school and I feel very good about where my life is. I have been married more than four decades to the same man. We have worked very hard together to achieve our goals, and we have. He is retired now but I am still a housewife and loving it. When people ask me what I do or did for a job I tell them, "My job is and was to take my husbands paycheck and handle it in a way that I wouldn't have to work out of the home". Proudly I say "I did it". I have three grown children that I am very proud to have had the chance to raise. We lived in Modesto until ten years ago. I decided we were getting close to retirement and my husband need more land than just a lot in the city ...Expand for more
to be home on. We searched until we found "Our Last Resort" which is located in Calaveras county. We now live on five acres with our own black bass pond. We raise our own beef and all the fresh fruit and vegetables we can ask for. We love to have coffee or drinks on the deck and watch the wild life. We have deer, wild turkey, gray squirrel, fox, mountain lions, and hundreds of different species of birds. After ten years we still love where we live. My favorite hobby is sewing. For many years I truly enjoyed making clothes and costumes. Now I really like home decorating, so of course the children reap the benefit. Life has had its ups and downs as has everyone. But for the most part it has been good.
