Leanne's Story
Life
Let's see... I have owned and shown horses since 1981. I was a Veterinary Technician (fancy name for animal nurse) in the Ft. Lauderdale area for many years. I met a wonderful man named Brent in June 1990, who became my husband in January 1997. We moved to a small ski resort town in Western New York in March 1998, where we own a farm and I own 3 horses. Lolli a.k.a. "Pistol" is a 18y.o. registered Appaloosa mare, (do I REALLY need to go any further?) that I use for driving, LB's Back a.k.a. "Jake" is a 17y.o. registered Quarter Horse gelding that I use for Halter classes and has points, and then there's Josh The Manosh a.k.a. "Manoshy" who is a 9y.o. Thoroughbred gelding off the track October 2002, that I will be using for Western Pleasure. I am the Head Veterinary Technician and work nights at a Pet Emergency Center in Erie, Pennsylvania...Expand for more
. My husband is the Service Manager at a heavy equipment shop and races his KTM dirtbikes in the GNCC Series throughout the racing season. That's pretty much my life in a nutshell. Any questions you may have, please feel free to contact me, I'd love to hear from you. Have a great day.
Leanne :-)
Workplace
I have worked full-time at night at a Pet Emergency Center since 2001 where I am the Head Veterinary Technician. I LOVE emergency medicine. It's exciting and fast paced. I love having the ability to save a life but on the other hand, there are times when I ask myself, "Why do I do this?". Euthanasia is the absolutely hardest thing to do. But knowing you're ending the suffering of a poor helpless animal is sort of a relief. Shouldn't we all be so lucky as to someday be able to make this decision for family members or even ourselves.
