Lena Kirkpatrick's Story
Life
I have been married to J. Mac DeFord for 30 years. We have one son, Shawn. Shawn is in Washington DC working for PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
When Shawn left for college, Mac and I bought 30 acres outside of Springtown, TX. We love living out in the country. If we had known it was going to be so wonderful, we would have done it much sooner.
After we moved, I left my HR position with Criswell Communications and got a position much closer to where we live. I was the Human Resource Manager at the Lake Worth Home Depot Store. It is a good company to work for, but very diff...Expand for more
erent than the communication industry. I left Home Depot and am enjoying life in the country. Will go back to work eventually.
It has been interesting and wonderful to start this new phase of our lives. We love the country, but Shawn does not have the same love for the country that Mac and I do. I am sure he will go to some big city to work when he gets out of college. We plan to stay here.
Workplace
I am currently at home. My husband, Mac is very ill with cancer and is on the last leg of the journey. I take care of him. I am not sure of my plans after Mac is gone.
