Lennart's Story
Life
After graduating from Monroe I was working full time for Loew's Theatres and Hotels and attended Bronx Community College at night. Enlisted in the Army in Nov of 65 and signed up for Alaska. Training was at Fort Dix, then went to Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio Texas. Received training for medic. o a LPN. I spend 22 months in Germany and never got to Alaska. I was discharged in early Feb, 1969. I started nursing school at Albany Medical Center School of Nursing a 3 year program. I graduated in February of 1972 and got my RN. I worked at AMC for a couple of years then went to work at the V>A> Hospital here in Albany. I retired after 29 years in 2004. I had 33 years and 2 months of Federal service.
