Lenore Myers:  

Lenore living in Sky Valley, California. She also owns a home in Mckinleyville California. Lyn is married with Randy Myers. Lyns’s schools include Canoga Park High School. Lyn later attended Glendale College of Business and Paramedical, Glendale Community College. She went on to work in the music business on the business side and manage bands on the Sunset strip at the Troubadour the Whisky the Starwood Gizzaris and other venues throughout the area. She work for trans Atlantic management and they had their studio on Mount Washington where the bands would practice. Her brother Greg Magie was the lead singer of Sorcery. Lenore and English Cathy Harris - who was the president of Trans Atlantic management, Lenore (Lyn) was executive administrative assistant to Cathy and they would scout bands all over the area bring them to the studio and polish them up and book them in the clubs that they were established with on the Sunset strip and many other places. Van Halen was one of the bands. They had been playing in David Lee Roth’s extensive back yard around the pool in Pasadena- a huge mansion that his father, a doctor, owned -and they would have kids come and they play around their pool in the backyard where Lyn (Lenore) and Kathy found them. Sorcery -her brothers band -who was also managed by Trans Atlantic management-Van Halen would open for Sorcery who had very big rock show as well as a band with a magic act included it. There are posters on the Internet still that show Van Halen opening for Sorcery who was the top bill. One of those venues was the Golden West Ballroom. But there were many other venues with Van Halen opening for Sorcery. Lyn remembers that they both got signed first With the William Morris agency at the Whisky, but heard Michael the bass for Van Halen say he doesn’t remember exactly but he thinks they got signed at the Starwood but Lenore thinks it was the Whiskey where they both got their contracts with the William Morris agency. This lead to Sorcery getting their deal with Casablanca and Van Halen getting theirs with Warner Bros. Sorcery Went on to make a movie and Greg wrote the soundtrack as well as performed in the movie -Lyn is an extra in the audience background in the movie. The movie is called Stunt Rock and can still be seen on the Internet. Van Halen went on to superstardom as we all know. They do like to say they manage themselves for the first year and a half but that was simply not true. Greg and Smoky and others in the Scorcery band and Denise Dunlop -Trans Atlantic’s photographer (who did their first photo shoot in Griffith Park,) can also attest to the fact -as well as other people who worked with them.
