Leonard's Story
Life
Life has been good. After school, I spent 8 years in the Army (4 active, 4 active reserve). I was stationed with the 3/8 FAR on FT. Bragg. During that time, I spent 4 months in the sand box in the east (Desert Storm). Once I was off of active duty I began going to college. My major that time was Nursing. I dropped out and started working in computers. I worked at Broderbund Software as a Senior Tech Rep, and eventually as a Tech Support Lead, before the department was shut down. After Broderbund, I worked for a year at Attest Systems. I returned to Broderbund land (actually Mattel then) as a producer for The Print Shop.
I signed out my final version of The Print Shop in the spring of 2004, and finished PrintMaster 15 in the summer of 2004. I was then laid off (again!). I then went to work as a product manager for Sonic Sol...Expand for more
utions.
New news (6/12/06): I have now left Sonic Solutions. I am finally living my dream of programming. I now work for a good company where my fears, and reality, of being laid off are lessened. In May of 2006, I started working as a Programmer Analyst for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Great job, great people. I am really happy now with my work situation, as well as the rest of my life.
This job change does mean one thing that I am sorry about. I will, after 25+ years, have to move away from Novato. I will miss this dinky little town, but I am looking forward to the next chapter.
I have been married since '98, and have 2 great kids. My oldest is Paige and the youngest is Lane. My wife is Jennifer, and have never met a more wonderful woman in my life (sorry ladies).
Have a great time.
