Les's Story
Life
After high-school I enlisted for a short stint in the USAF, originally as a programmer, but ended up serving as a B-52 Tailgunner due to the military cutbacks that were underway at that time. Shortly after my return, I met Tonia and we were married five months later. We've now been married 23 years, have two boys - Jay (18), & Kris (20) who's now married to Hanna with a grandson on the way (Austin). Since 1995, we've lived in an old farmhouse on three acres in a small valley high on NorthEast side of Mt Hood, and have a bit of a petting zoo going here... A horse (Rudy), burrough (Jake), three dogs - Stormy (Lab), Blue (Heeler/Aussie), Bear (St Bernard), Several cats to keep the field mice at bay, six chickens, and a Sun Conure Parrot which shows no end in entertaining the crowd.
HOBBIES:
In addition to enjoying a good novel, and a finish carpenter project from time to time, my youngest son talked me into taking up Snowboarding last year. Convenient...Expand for more
since the nearest ski resort is 10 minutes away, with two of the worlds best resorts just 20 and 30 minutes away. It can be a truly exhilirating feeling when it all comes together, or a rude awakening when it doesn't <ackkk>
WORK BIOGRAPHY:
After returning from the USAF, I gravitated toward the construction business, engaging all aspects of residential construction. When work became scarce in the early 80's, I went to work in the sales/investment industry eventually as a stockbroker until 1990. At that time, I established a business as a finish carpenter while writing software when the opportunity arose. Long story short, I'm now a partner in a customer software development firm which is based in Delaware, though we live here in Oregon. Needless to say, it doesn't much matter where we live as long as we can get a phone line out and hop a plane from time to time. My office is in the house, the hours are many, and the work in intense, but it's all good <g>
