Leslie's Story

I attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. My schooling was interrupted due to a motorcyle accident (I was a passenger) and breaking both of my wrists at the same time. I returned to school 1 1/2 years later and in my last semester I started dating my husband, George Middleton. We were planning to come out this summer to spend a week visiting family and helping my parents. I had not even considered a 40th reunion. Being 57 didn't make me feel old...but a 40th reunion sure does. OUCH! My husband is a pastor and we have lived in MA, ME, QC, and NY. We presently live in the most northwest part of NY along the St. Lawrence seaway. Besides being a pastor's wife I manage a small Christian Bookstore, oversee an authorized UPS & FedEx counter and assist with a Pool & Spa store - 3-in-1. I live a block from work and can often be seen running the short distance (trying to make it through the lights) to work. I enjoy: riding my old fashion (no speeds, foot brake) bicycle along the St. Lawrence Seaway; baking (cinnamon rolls and cheesecakes are my specialties); reading; watching old movies; any time spent with my husband/best friend; visiting our son's and grandchildren; pomegranates, dark chocolate, fried calamari and cheesecake; helping people; teaching Sunday School and Junior Church; being a wife, mom and nani (grandma); Ladies Bible Study; old and new friends. ur youngest son was married in VA, outside D.C. Our oldest son's 2nd child (a girl) was born 2 weeks before. It was such a blessing to go a week before the wedding and help our DIL and take care of our grandson...cook meals, do laundry, play games, change diapers, etc. The end of the week we were able to prepare (what I didn't make ahead of time ) the rehearsal dinner meal for almost 70 people. Our DIL's parents offered their place. It was such a blessing since the cost in VA for anything is quite high. We were able to invite friends and family from out of town as well. Yes, I know 70 sounds like a lot. She had 9 in her wedding party alone. It was a fun challenge to have a baked potato bar and a variety of cheesecakes and to keep my sanity at the same time. I am not sure of the latter. Two weeks ago our 2 sons came up with a new computer. We have joined the MAC family. I am new at webcamming with our son and grandson. I am open to any suggestions in dealing with a 2 year old through the computer. I look forward to seeing old friends, making new ones and not feeling the need to impress anyone. How about casual dress...that suits me fine. I also am glad to have my husband coming with me this time. It's good of him, since I won't go to his reunions (I went to one and that was my last). He's more sociable than I am. If you see him pull out a list, beware...jokes will follow.
