Leslie's Story

Life There is not too much to add to this "Life Bio", but just incase anyone is interested I wanted to clear up a few things. In the Q & A portion of the profile page, they give such silly answers to the questions that it is hard to pick one without sounding like a dork. I am single, but neither loving it or hating it -just single. I live in Flordia, but do think often about everyone back home (still refer to GB as home). I do own my own business, and would love to travel, and do many other things with my free time, but have had Lupus since I was 16, so alot of my spare time is spent resting and trying to stay as well as possible. As far as outdoor activities, they didn't list boating, just sailing. I would rather be sailing, but we have a power boat -so that's close enough. I do think about all of my classmates often (especially good ol' Baird School) and often wonder how everyone is and what everyone is up to. I hope all is well with all of you. To everyone from Baird, Edison, Preble, and the others that I have met and known as I grew up - Hello! and take care of yourselves (and your loved ones) Peace! New in '09 - I have finally left Florida and moved to the Appalachian mountains (NE Ga). It is much more relaxing than where I was before. I still own my business, but am slowly doing a "tapering off" of the work for my clients, and then will take time off (me time - yea!). In the future I plan on a (hopefully) exploring other career options. I have gotten a few offers to run some offices in this area in my given profession, but turned them down. I do not want to be cooped up in an office, at least for the next year. This is the first time in 16 years I got to experience fall, winter (had a little bit of snow), and am now getting my first taste of spring. Beachside in Florida was feeling li...Expand for more
ke (& looking like) perpetual August for so many years (at least to me). Plus adding in the stress of owning a business for 16 years-clients, employees, partners, vendors, overhead costs, HEALTH INS FOR EVERYONE!, taxes, taxes, and more taxes, plus many more stressful things, people, situations, etc. - I needed a change. Too much time passed by, and I had not done enough for me. Now that I am here, I am spending a little more time trying to find out what I want to be when I grow up. I have taken a few art classes, and have gotten back into photography. I hope to take more classes. There are a couple of good art schools nearby, and several colleges. We'll see. I am still not used to having "time off", so the idea of classes, or anything other than work is still a bit foreign to me. Baby steps. I will not work tomorrow!! (actually I have to work tomorrow). I will take the next two days off, giving me a 4 day weekend -wow!! First step was allowing myself Sundays off, but that was easy, it was fall-GO PACKERS!! Now more recently I have not worked Saturdays anymore. Soon I will try to take a vacation - it's been 6 years since I've had one. I became a bit TYPE A for awhile - scary!! ..... Enough already. The area where I live is beautiful. I get to sit out on my front porch and look out at the lake and the mountains. If I walk to the end of my street I can see the mountains in South Carolina. Much better view from this office (my home office) then before. I do miss Florida, but do go back every once in a while. Its better to visit after living there. You see all the things that made it pretty in the first place, but you can lose sight of those things anytime you live in one place for a long period of time. Too all who read this - I hope that all is going well. I'll let you know when I am there too.
