Movies Leslie likes include Stargate, Dune, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Official Page). TV shows Leslie likes include NFL Network, Fox News Channel, STAR Movies. One of Leslie's favorite quotes is:"Government is not the solution to the problem, government is the problem. Ronald Reagan". More about Leslie:"What I Like To Do: Three days a week I start the day off with a brisk cardio workout followed by exercises and weights. I am basically a homebody as I have a special needs son at home that I care for, I have enough income that I don’t have to work which is fine with me. I spend a lot of time playing online games like World of Warcraft (however, curling up on the couch with a good woman beats WOW every time). I also like talking to folks on my social network through my Ventrilo voice server which I maintain in order to keep in contact with the guys in Iraq and Afghanistan. On Friday nights I go out to have a few cocktails at my favorite bars. On Friday and Saturday I like to go out and listen to live bands and have a few drinks and am an avid dancer to rock and roll music. I like music of all kinds but RAP (hate RAP), movies, ball games (NFL, MLB), and going out to dinner when I have a date. Playing darts, billiards, and dancing are other things I like to do. Who I Am: I am a Vietnam Vet who was married to the same beautiful woman for 32 years until she died after a long and dreadful illness. I spent 40+ years in the workforce with most of that time spent working on high end defense programs that required a high security clearance. I worked directly with the engineers prototyping the B-2 Bomber and YF-23 Stealth fighter (F-22). I also worked on the SR-71 Blackbird Spy plane and built the first Space Shuttle. There are several other programs I worked on but they are so highly classified that I don"t even know what they were. I never graduated from high school as I spent those years running around in the jungles of Vietnam, at the tender age of 55 I decided to go back to school and get my degree which I did and have an AAS degree in networking with ...Expand for more
some associated certifications as well. I graduated with honors and maintained a 3.75 GPA so I guess you can say that I am not exactly an idiot, whether I am also intelligent would be for you to determine and not me. I am very family oriented so my life is committed to my special needs son and am unable to travel. However as my other son is the Certified Caretaker of my Special Needs son I am able to have a very versatile social life when necessary. I just can"t go off on a jaunt to Cairo or Paris". I married Darla Ravens before I left for the war as she was pregnant with my daughter. She could not remain faithful while I was away so that marriage did not last. My second wife was just as bad so that did not last either. I chalk those marriages up as casualties of the war because the guy that left was not the guy that came back. The man that came back was cold, bitter, and angry with no respect for life whether it be his own or someone else's and was simply looking for a place to die. The nightmares, rage, and flashbacks were simply to much for Darla and Cheryl to cope with so they found solace in the arms of other men. In 1974 I met Mary who cared not what I did in the war nor did she fear the dark side of me. She simply loved me for who and what I was and accepted both the good and bad that came with the package that was Les. Mary brought me back from the war I was trapped in and gave me a reason to live again. When Mary met me I was a "dead man walking"; she took that dead man and brought him back to the land of the living and melted the ice encasing his heart. Mary banished my demons and showed me that I was not the evil, murderous psychopath that I had convinced myself that I was. She had the key to unlock the cage that kept me imprisoned in the jungles of Vietnam and that key was her unconditional love she had for me. I loved her with every fiber of my body and soul. When she died I thought my life was over as I just wanted to crawl into a hole and die so the pain would stop. Then I looked at my special needs son and I knew that without me to love and protect him he would have no chance to survive so that gave me the strength to go on. I also wanted to fulfill the promise I made to my Mary which was to make sure Dakota was always provided for. So the man you see today is nowhere near the wild and crazy kid you may remember from those days at Westview and Eastridge as I went to both schools.
