Leslie's Story
When I graduated from Franklin High School, I went to MTSU for pre Dental Hygiene. From there, I went to UT Memphis, Center for the Health Sciences where I graduated with a Bachelors of Dental Hygiene. I started practicing Dental Hygiene and discovered that I didn't like the profession. I then decided to go back to school and get a Bachelor of Nursing at TSU. I met my sweet husband while working as a nurse at Vanderbilt. He was a medical student who was planning to be a Psychiatrist. So we were married before he started his residency. n Diego for him to complete his Residency in Psychiatry at UCSD. The last year of his residency, he got cancer. When he completed his residency we moved back to Nashville. At this time his cancer returned and went through chemo. Thankfully, he is now considered cured. I have been working as a nurse in Nashville in a variety of fields, which I greatly enjoy. We have dogs that we treat as children. I enjoy hiking and traveling. I continue to swim for exercise. I live real close to where I grow up. I love to go to Vanderbilt football games and it is fun to see them winning this year. GO Vandy!
