Leslie's Story
Thought I would add some new info - tho lots of folks already have heard the story. sept 3, 2014, i lost everything except my cat, my car and my life. A drunk driver went off the road on my neighbors property, exploded (after the driver got safely out) and caused a wildfire. I had no time to collect all that one imagines you would take with, incase of fire, flood, whatever. So, stuffed the cat in the carrier(which was on the loveseat in readyness for a vet appt the following day), grabbed my purse and keys. As I was rushing to the garage, there were burning embers falling all around me - started to trry to stomp one out, but decided that it would not help, as there were far too many. A neighbor on the other side said she saw my breaklights going on, as the garage burst into flame.
After staying with friends, motels, and finally a travel trailer on my property, i was finally able to move into my new house shortly before Christmas last year.

I have been retired for 61 days now (today is 3.11.13), and i am beginning to feel retired. sorta. I have been living outside of a small town in Lake County, Ca. Have a small acreage. Have had some ups and downs, got divorced after 30 years of marriage... yea, am a sloooooow learner. Have been single now for close on 19 years. After being anti technology thru the 60's - 80's, i decided i liked computers after i found out you could draw and paint with them. So, i went back to school and became a computer programmer. Mostly in business... and not art. sigh. Anyway, the last 18 years i spent as the senior programmer at Mendocino College. I truely enjoyed being around kids, working at the college.
i have one son, who has *not* provided me with grandkids.... so i adopt other peoples.
