Leslie's Story
To my fellow classmates. I cannot believe that it has been many years sense we graduated Well's. I am grateful to my parents, teachers, colleagues, siblings, and friends who positively shaped me into the responsible person that I am today. This is the history of my life so far:
My Schools:
Skinner Park Elementary School - South Side (K-2): 1963-1966
Mitchell Elementary School - West Side (3-5): 1966-1969
Talcott Elementary School (6-8) - East Side: 1969-1972
Wells High School - North of Talcott Elementary: 1972-1976;
- In 1976, I earned the "Class Clown" Award during my graduation banquet. I knew I had a wonderful sense of humor, and most of you also thought the same. Thank you again. :)
After graduation, I joined the United States Air Force: 1976 - 1998 - Now retired - Served 22 years
While serving, I travelled to many places all over the world. It was a real eye opener. Some places are just like home. The bottom line is, "There's no place like home."

I earned two Public Eduation Teaching Credentials in California:
- A Multiple Subjects Professional Clear (K-8) Credential that allows me to teach the general education core-curriculum in general education classrooms.
- An Education Specialist Level II (K-12) Credential that allows me to teach a Special Day Class of Learning Handicapped Students in a special education classroom.
- Added Autism Authorization Credential: April 2013
- I was a Substitute (K_12) Teacher from 2001 - 2008
- I have been a Full Time Special Education Teacher since the 2006 - 2007 school year Current
- I currently teach a grade 2-3 Combination class of 18 students.
- After graduating from Well's, I went to San Antonio, Texas for Air Force Basic Training.
- After basic training, I trained in Displains, Illinois as a Jet Engine Mechanic.
- After Jet Engine Mechanic School, I trained and worked in Alamogordo, New Mexico until 1980.
- After Alamogordo, New Mexico, I was stationed at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino, California until 1987 as a Flight Engineer on the Air Force C-141A/B aircraft.
- After Norton Air Force Base, I was stationed at March Air Force Base in Moreno Valley, Califoria until 1995 as a Flight Engineer on the Air Force KC-10 aircraft.
- After March Air Force Base, I was stationed at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, Califoria until 1998 as a Flight Engineer on the Air Force KC-10 aircraft.
- After Travis Air Force Base, I retired after serving a total of 22 years.
- After my Air Force retirement, I choose to become a K-12 teacher and here I am today.
- This is my 9th school year teaching (2014-2015).
- I have been living in Southern California since September 1980.
- I attempt to talk to Chicago family members routinely. My Yearbooks were damanged. I would love to purchase new ones if available and if anyone can help me out with the address information.
