Leslie's Story
How do you encapsulate half a century into a few paragraphs? I would like to think people from high school remember me as very friendly, caring and sensitive. I still keep up friendships with Penny (Larsen) Valukis and Marti (Hopkins) Hoar. People who I meet now who remember me (from HS) always ask about my brother, Dana, the troublemaker! I guess I wasn't that memorable, but Dana was. He gave my parents so much grief and heartache, I was determined to be "the good kid", read: boring and forgettable. I was into music, drama and writing at LHS, wanted to do something related but my parents talked me out of it. Went into dental hygiene and I'm still at it! Life doesn't always turn out like you expect, though. I...Expand for more
was married for 22 yrs, we divorced in 2000, amicably. I bought a house built in 1890, which, I'm finding now is too much work for one person. It constantly needs something! If it weren't for the economy I would probably move to a condo, with less maintenance, but that will have to wait. I've been at the same dental office since 1985, and with the patients and the staff, it feels like family. But my boss and patients expect so much of me, the stress level can get high. When that happens, I head off to the gym or for a long walk, or sit and listen to jazz with a nice glass of red wine. To stay sane I enjoy gardening, scrapbooking and quilting, which has enjoyed a huge resurgence in recent years. My mom died 8 yrs ago, and my Dad moved to St. Thomas, which is where I vacation now, to be able to see him. Love the Cape and the Lake Winapasaukee area too. Old friends and acqaintances, please stay in touch!
