Lester's Story

I've always been a restless soul and have never quite "settled" down in the conventional sense. But, "All who wander are not lost." I am just an explorer/sojourner. Greatly curious about all I see and the world before me. I received a A.S. in Electronics and a FCC Commercial Broadcast license 2 years out of H.S. Because of the degree I secured a number of government jobs and eventually worked with a D.O.D. clearance on several classified projects. I have never been happy doing the same thing all the time. I stayed in construction and "big" building repair/maintenance most of my career. Both were diverse, challenging and rewarding. I was only able to make the 20th reunion. Life intervened for the rest. However, there was a reunion only the guys attended...... It was at the Fullerton Bus Terminal in 1968. We were all being bussed to the L.A. Induction Center for what was to be the "Alice Restaurant" experience. Remember that? Vomiting ON THE BUS! in am rush hour, I-5 traffic!! We were all hung over! The whole county as I remember. Class of 66 and 67 from every school. I am very surprised I made it this far, seriously. I've had my share of close calls. As most of you have learned by now, it is life its self that becomes the great teacher. H.S. is a feeble attempt to prepare us for the world. readable and life changing experiences. I have made my contributions in some of the most unexpected ways. I have always maintained a open mind and heart. As a result many doors and windows have been flung open, I welcome change and the growth it brings. It hasn't been without tough times...I should own a chain of lemonade stands by now! But I survived so far and I'm still here. I am now 60. I was a bachelor father for 16 years and raised a son and daughter on my own. (Could I write a book on this.) Currently I am grandfather 10 times over and great grand kids not far away...scary! Lessons of Life ..Seems to be why we are all here.... I can only hope I have "learned" what I was suppose to. That I have "earned" the love of others. That I have given back where and when I could and passed along what I have learned. That I was a good friend, parent, partner and brother to many. To forgive others and ask forgiveness for hurting the ones I have loved along the way. Don't we live in a amazing age? Generations have gone before and ours is the first to be able to maintain contact with each other through our entire life span. The ease with which we can now re-connect. wow. Our parents couldn't have imagined something like this. I wish everyone well and the peace that passes all understanding. P.S. I still play a mean blues guitar. Check out the pic's Les
