Levi's Story

Life It's amazing what life will hand you.... so, it's not what you make of it, it's what you do with it. That's what determines your quality of life. I need to put in here the importance of your friends. We all have family... some of us more than others... Those of you who really know me.. I feel blessed to call friend. One of you especially... You have pulled me through some of the most difficult things in my life... Even if you didn't know it... There were many years there where I didn't even know where you were... But you were always with me.. In my heart... I carry you with me today still... And for the rest of my life... Even though I do know where you are now. I love you. I always have.. Even when I wasn't able to recognize it. Maybe one day soon I'll be able to tell you in person. As for my other friends... I truly hope that you are all doing well... Drop me a line.. I know I tend to dissapear.. But I will eventually get it and I promise that I will respond. (If you need a way to get ahold of me other than through here, drop me a line at ghillie06 at yahell and I'll get it there.) When a lot of you saw me last, I was a very different person. Life has taken me on many adventures since then. I guess I'll start with life following high school. I joined the Army in september of '94 where I went into the reserves as a forward observer for artillery. After finishing my basic training and AIT, my family moved back to New York state so I followed them and wound up transfering to the National Guard. Now the benefit to being in the Reserves and National Guard, is that you get to have a life in addition to your military service. So, I worked in private secu...Expand for more
rity, became a certified electroplater, as well as a cook. During these few years my Army job changed a few times, I became a communications specialist as well as a Nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare sergeant. After all of that I went back to being the most basic kind of soldier, an Infantry soldier. Heavy weapons and light infantry. I've done that for the past five years, the last two and a half years have been on active duty. But my tours are finally over, and the Army medically retired me in sept 05 due to some injuries that I've sustained. I have since found other ways to serve my country and continue to do so. On the civilian side, when I wasn't on active duty, I became a police officer, worked in a machine shop, and became a manager for a national chain lumber yard. In the end now though, I've gone back to my roots and what I love, and that's working with horses. Not many of you knew about the horse thing, but now I run my own business training horses, teaching folks to ride, and selling tack and equipment. I work mostly with quarter horses as they seem to make the best rodeo horses. Yes, I rodeo as well, none of that insane roughstock stuff though, mostly team penning, sorting, and I'm getting back into roping. I've had my disappointment's too. There are some choices that I could've made better in my past, but I am thankful for the life I've had. My ex-wife and I are still best friends even though we've been divorced for almost two years. And no, I'm not being naive, we are just better friends than anything. I can only hope that life has treated all of you as well as it has me. Drop me a line sometime, it would be great to hear from you.
