Lia's Story

Life During my Senior year, I began working for my home parish and continued there until 1999 when I went "on the road" with NET Ministries - the "Catholic Road Rules". After 10 months & 149 retreats in 7 states, I moved up North. I lived in Berekely and worked as a youth minister in San Rafael. d I'm really enjoying it. In 2007 I helped form a non-profit called Handing Out Hope that coordinates and funds projects which promote self-reliance in third world countries. As the Event Committee Chairperson I'm basically the fundraiser- doing everything from seeking large sponsorships and grants to throwing kick-ass parties at clubs around SoCal where people don't even realize part of their bar tab is going to fund some amazing work. It's incredible and hard and the best thing I've ever done.
