Libby's Story
In June of 2014 I retired as Principal of Brentwood Christian School in Austin, after 30 years in that position. I currently serve the school on a consulting basis as Academic Dean. Most of my career has been in education (elementary and secondary), though I also spent some time as an editor for a publishing company, and I have published some Bible story books and other religious education materials.
I have been married to Michael Weed since 1965. He is a retired professor of ethics and theology who is now engaged in writing projects. We have two children, Susan Womack and Jonathan Weed, both happily married and living nearby. We are richly blessed with six delightful grandchildren. My loves of music and theater have continued. For many years I have been involved with The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Austin, first onstage and then behind the scenes. I currently serve as president of this organization, which is (really and truly) one of the premier societies of its kind in the U.S. Check out our website and come see some of our productions!
My five siblings (all TJHS grads) and I remain very close, getting together annually with extended families every Christmas, sometimes in the summer, and in February at our adults-only sibling reunion.
I have fond memories of TJ--Hussars, choir, many classes and teachers, friends. It was fun to renew some old friendships at last year's 50th reunion.
