I worked at many tiny newspapers for brief periods until my Junior year at Glassboro State where I was extremely lucky to get an internship at the Courier. I did well there and they hired me full-time after graduation. I was a columnist and the legislative correspondent when I left to have my first son in July, 1985. My younger s...Expand for more
on came just 15 months later and I then went to work part-time at the Inquirer. Eventually, I had a demanding night editing job which I left when they wanted to make me full time. I decided, after working with many young reporters, that the desire to be an English teacher was still there, so I took graduate level courses at Rider University.
