Lee (Linda)'s Story

LEE MAYBEN NKA (now known as): Linda Pottberg. I moved to Dallas for a few years & then was moving to LA when I stopped in Florida & stayed here instead. Went to LA for a visit & shipped my stuff to Florida in 1991 (21 years old) & I've been here ever since. I'm in north central Florida where there are hills & trees & rivers & springs. Beaches are about an hour & a half away east or west. It is sort of like Maryland & Virginia but a lot nicer weather year round. We get cold some freezing but not much. I married, had one child, Puck (legal name = Clifton. . . but we've been calling him Puck since he was a few days old) He is soon to be 21.
I finally figured out what I wanted to do when I grew up. . . be an occupational therapist. I went back to college at 35 & graduated from UF in 2005 with a Masters in Occupational Therapy. I'm certified in Therapeutic Listening, Brain Gym (R), Educational Kinesiology, Myof...Expand for more
acial Release & sensory techniques. From 2006 until June 2010, I worked for the University of Florida working with adults with developmental disabilities & work privately out of my home providing OT to children of all abilities. I love what I do. I travelled to Romania to volunteer in orphanages and facilitated trainings of staff & caretakers in four different facilities. The picture of me in the sunflower field was taken in Romania. I am turning 50 & am starting a new, exciting job at The Morris Center. I will be part of an interdisciplinary team at a research based clinic for children and adults with learning disabilities. It is an incredible opportunity for me to use all of my skills and learn from an incredible team of professionals.
When I'm not working, I enjoy singing & playing music with others, painting, camping, kayaking, gardening, my son Puck & dog Lucky. Hope everyone is well & enjoying life!
