Linda's Story
Life
After high school I worked as a pharmacy technician and then went to work at Newport News Shipbuilding (1982-1992) as a logistics analyst in the Engineering Department.
I was lucky enough to marry my high school sweetheart, aka Fred Rains (Class of 1977) and we have now been married for 26 years. We were married for 10 years and were then blessed with our funny, beautiful, kind, intelligent (I could go on and on) daughter, Lindsay, who is now 16 years old. ve in the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake. Fred is a computer systems specialist for the Navy and I work as a medical transcriptionist in the Cardiology Department at the new Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk.
We have been blessed with a truly wondrous life and caring and loving friends and family members. We have gone through some tough, character-building events such as Fred losing his sight at age 19 and myself surviving colon cancer in the last three years, but as the movie title states, IT IS A WONDERFUL LIFE!
