Linda's Story

I married the man I had dated through my senior year summer that we graduated from Edmondson. The next year, I had my first son, while Chuck was in Vietnam. When he returned, we lived in Texas while he finished his tour of duty, and I had our second son. After returning to civilian life in PA, I had our third child, a daughter. And four years later, another daughter. I mention this because they are my most treasured accomplishments. Ten years after the last child was born I returned to college and earned a bachelor's in education. My love of children and education were the guiding force as I worked through college. I know the difference that difference that dedicated educators can make in a child's life. It would be ten more years before Iearned my Master's. hildren of their own. Our children have turned out to be wonderful, responsible human beings who do their best to make this world a better place. They are doing their best to ensure that their children will follow in their footsteps. I still teach, sixth grade English/Writing and often think of Stella Gersuk, rest her soul, whose style and flair led me to a deep love of language. I have fond memories of high school and the students there. Patricia James who took me under her wing, Pete Godwin who was so kind, Spencer Carter and all the other kids, who like me have have made their way through life and left their mark. My greatest hope is that I have made this world a kinder, better place for our children, a place where color and creed are not the sole defining traits of a person, but a place where each individual is judged on their own merit.
