Linda's Story
Well, here I am again ... A lot has happened in the last year. I retired from the City of Tempe after working 21 years as a Library Specialist at the Tempe Public Library. I now work as my husband's office assistant in his law practice in Tempe ... and I love it! We've been traveling a lot since then, but have currently slowed in order to refocus our priorties and channel our energies in a different direction.
We are at the end of a total remodel of my home in Tempe ... the same home I grew up in ... and once that's done, we'll be putting it up for sale in order to down size and simplify. This simplier life means we'll be moving to Belle Vernon, PA, where my son and his family have their home and were I lived for over 5 years in the 70s. Yes ... I'm moving from the dry brown desert to lush green verdant vistas ... and admittedly, the cold, but having been born in Alaska, I don't think I'll mind it. The town is set on top of a hill and overlooks the Monongahela River. It's a small, close knit community of less than 2, 000 people, but only ...Expand for more
a short drive away from Pittsburgh with it's great museums, theaters, galleries, restaurants, parks and sports venues. The only thing I'm dreading is the actual move. Driving across the country with 4 cats in tow is not an experience any relatively sane person could possibly look forward to. Did I hear someone say, "Kitty Valium"? If THEY don't use it, I might.
All-in-all, my life has been incredibly blessed and I look forward to enjoying the future as much as I've enjoyed my past ... well, most of it ... and enjoy the present moments even more. I think often of my days at McClintock and all the friends I left behind ... Helen Sekaquaptewa, Dwight Rawlings, Bobbie Mero, Byrl Cinnamon ... and so many more. If you read this, know you are missed even if we parted ways long ago ... and in one case ... not on the best of terms. It's funny and actually miraculous, how time manages to smooth out the sharp edges of our memories.
In the meantime, I wish you all GOD's (Budha ... Universal Mind, etc) many blessings and infintie grace. Namaste.
