Linda's Story
Hey friends,
Ya know how we all talked about how we couldn't wait to get out of Waukegan? I was pretty serious about that. The day after graduation I moved to Tucson, Arizona because my parents were planning on retiring there. I got an apartment with Kim Hanna and took some classes that summer and fall. My dad passed away in Dec 89, so I came back to Waukegan and got an office job.
I acted like I was 25 for a while, working and bar hoppin'. That's when I met Mark.
It's kind of corny, but we knew we were soul mates almost instantly. We got married in Waukegan in Sept. 91, and started having kids 2 yrs later. We moved to Milton, Wi. in 94. I grew up camping there and we fell in love...Expand for more
with the small town feel. We gave up the party life, became immersed in a Baptist Church and had 4 kids over a 10 yr. period.
We lived in Kenosha for a couple of years while Mark was going back to school for Teaching, but consider Milton our home. I work at an area hospital as an OB Tech and assist a local midwife with homebirths.
We are about to do something radical. Our whole family is preparing to go to Africa as missionaries in the summer of 09. Mark will teach in a rural village school and I will attend births in huts. It's something we have felt called to do for many years.
Thanks for checking in on me. I'm looking forward to reconnecting with old friends.
Blessings,
Linda
