Linda's Story
When I orginally wrote my story I went on the basis that everyone who read it would remember who I am. Since then I realized that I vaguely remembered names but not always who the person was. So in light of that I thought maybe I should jog your memories first then bring you up to date.In junior high I was a Star Trek fanatic to the point of being known by some of my friends as Spock. Ahh those crazy days of stupidity! Next to Chritie Elkins I was the tallest girl at Roosevelt Jr. High. I hung around with Linda Messer, Ruth Ann Garn, Michelle Cowan, Wendy Duelle, the late Steve Hutchinson to name a few. In High School Linda Messer and I were best friends and just for the heck of it did strange things like wearing our matching chourus dresses with our Mickey Mouse ears to school. During our Sophmore and Junior years we staked out the area at the base of the ramp in front of the school offices. Then during our Senior year we picked out a particular table in the Senior Glen that was ALL OURS. To the point that one day the football team got out early or something and they ventured into the Senior Glen and sat at OUR TABLE, so we all stood on a near by table and if I remeber right sang - "God Bless America" or something like that at the top of our lungs! The team moved and we reclaimed our table to have it never taken again. I'm sure there are many other things that I could say to jog your memories but if these don't then you probably won't remember me.
Since graduating my life hasn't been real eventful. After graduation I went to Glendale College and was there for a semester. During that semester I met and married Michael Maranville, we had 2 beautiful children. A girl, Marlene, in 1975 and another girl, Sarah, in 1978. They were the only two good things to come out of this union. Needless to say we divorced. During our marriage I did work at a few different jobs. I worked at Sears, sold Princess House crystal, did office work and drove a school bus, but my favorite job came during the last year of our living together. I worked for Magic Mountain. I started out just as a peon Hostess and moved my way up to being a full time Restuarant Manager. I loved that job until a change of management and I got laided off. I remained single for 9 years before I found the best man in the world and remarried. I met him while working at Magic Mountain. His nam...Expand for more
e is Bill Savacool and he has a daughter, Julie who was born is 1984. So I now have three daughters and am loving it. As of this year (2009) we will have been married 10 years.
My oldest daughter Marlene became pregnant when she was 16 and gave the baby up for an open adoption. She had a baby girl who the adopting family named Megan Marie (Marlene's initials are M M). Since it was an open adoption I get to have a granddaughter and we talk all the time. This January 27th I became a grandma for the 2nd time - Julie had a baby girl that she named Aurora. My other daughter Sarah isn't currently married but is living a very full life. She lives in Georgia :( and I don't get to she her as much as I would like.
I found the Lord and was finally baptized On September 9,2007. I am blessed with a wonderful church family. The Lord is the light of my life and I thank Him daily for ALL that has happened in my life good and not so good. As each event has made me who I am today and with that I am very pleased. John 3:17.
I love animals as I always have and have 2 dogs. This is a large reduction from the largest amount of animals I have had at one time that would amount to 3 dogs, 3cats, several fish, and 8 birds. We had to reduce our numbers because we decided to down size and are currently living in our 30 foot 5th Wheel Trailer not too much area for more than what we currently have but we are loving it.
The worst thing that has ever happened to me occured a litte over two years ago when my daughter Marlene feel into a coma. She has been in the coma since Nov. 4, 2006. These have been the hardest years of my life. I'd appreciate your prayers for her. Well, that brings me pretty close to up to date. Of course a lot more has happened but this is my life in a nut shell.
Oh I should mention that my best friend in Junior and Senior High School - Linda Messer is still my best friend. We don't see each other as often as I would like but e-mail is a great way to keep in touch. I also just recently rejoined the work force and have returned to Magic Mountain but being older and a lot wiser now work for Merchandise instead of Food service.
I look forward to hearing from you. If you've stopped by for a visit to my site PLEASE LEAVE YOUR NAME so I can repay the favor and that way I won't be driven crazy by not knowing who stopped by. Thanks and may God Bless.
