Linda's Story
Not much to tell. I was a clinical coding analyst for a major pharmaceutical company until I fell ill with fibromyalgia in 2000. It took a few months to figure out what was wrong with me. Sigh. I did get lucky - I had a great fiance who didn't leave my side despite my worsening condition. We ended up in the Bay Area where his family is and where he got a programming job that ultimately became a telecommuting job. Good thing since I'm now in a wheelchair and can't do much of anything anymore. (Yes, Mom was distressed for me. She also loved my husband's attention to my needs, too. She forgave him for being a Democrat.) It was an interesting wedding. We put it up on my website.
Chris is also a great cat daddy. We have two fur kids of the feline purr-suasion and plan to get a third as a successor to the late great Honor. We've been married 20 years now and we're still dizzy in love. No one told me marriage could be like this! It's amazing. A true gift from God. My friend Larry said to me that after all my bad relationships that God owed me. (ROTFLOL) We got married on 23 Feb 2002.

e the last 10-15 years.
We moved to San Francisco in 2011 to take care of Chris' mother as she couldn't care for herself anymore: Alzheimer's. For four years our lives were not our own. She passed 16 August 2015 of COPD, which was a mercy. We inherited her two cats, Bastet rest.
San Francisco is a very expensive city to live in, so we sold the house and moved to SoCal to be closer to relatives. We miss it.
We have a great house that is ADA-friendly for me. It has a catio for our furkids. We lead a quiet life here in the Inland Empire. Dad lives with us. His diabetes is still brittle, so he needs someplace with a nurse to keep an eye on him (me!). It is a nice guest suite if I say so myself.
Sadly, I had a heart attack due to sepsis in April of 22 and nearly died. I spent six weeks after the two weeks in the hospital (one of which was in ICU) in a nursing home regaining my strength. They got me to a better point than when I broke my knee in 2021. My heart is actually in good shape. I passed my stress test easily and my EKG is not bad at all.
Achilles is our pocket panther (Wakanda forever!), and Monroe is the itty bitty kitty we got in 2022. They're good cuddle babies.
