Linda's Story
Life
Well, ever since I left East High School, I've been on a fantastic journey thru life. I worked for the Ohio Civil Rights Commission for several years, then switched over to the Ohio Bureau of Rehabilitation,(has a child in between this period, a son, named "Bobby", who now lives in NC with two children) and when I got bored with that I started at Ohio Board of Education where I stayed until I left in 1979 for the East Coast, which was in the heart of the Bronx, New York. I lived and worked in New York and New Jersey for seventeen years. I've seen and done alot of things. I got quite an education in human nature by being and surrounding myself with all cultures, New York is truly the melting pot of the world. I worked for lawyers most of this time(I am a Paralegal). I've done alot of Professional volunteering. I am a child advocate in the courts for Child Review Boards. My passion for advocating for children's rights is nonstop. I've done it in several states.(NY,NJ,FL). My life is not so interesting as other people's life. I miss the good broadway theatre and the many diverse ethnic foods. I recommend anyone visiting New York at least once in their lifetime, it's an amazing City full of people, places and things that will make or break the human spirit. Now I reside in Columbus because of the hurricanes in Florida. I was living in Florida briefly for two years working as a P...Expand for more
aralegal in the Guardian Ad Litem Program when hurricane Ivan and hurricane Jean came along. I lived on the waterfront so I had to evacuate everytime there was a hurricane sighting...was kind of scary there for awhile, but I'm back in Columbus now and I'm trying to adjust to the City life. I left Columbus to get an education mentally, physically and otherwise. I've done that. It's so nice seeing all of my former classmates and other people from my childhood. Some surprises, some saddness. What drugs have done to people is so sad. I pray for their souls and wish them well. I did however run into my highschool sweetheart and I was happy about that. Other than that, my life is not so interesting. I do try and keep a positive attitude while I'm living here in Columbus, but it's hard for me because I'm so used to going at a hundred miles an hour in New York. I have a lot of vitality and energy in this body(...even though I'm 102 years old now, smile!!!!)...but all in all, I'm a happy, spiritual person who wishes everyone peace, love and harmony no matter what their life circumstances have dealt them...I hope to talk to anyone who wants to catch up on what I've been doing and help me become a better person by knowing them. I am grateful for being here and I look forward to talking to my former classmates and others as well. Thanks for listening, I appreciate your kind attention anytime.
